Wii Play me some damned songs

Note to self.
I want to stream my mp3's to my Wii. There are servers to do that with Ubuntu. So far, it looks more complicated than I like. And, there's an issue. The Wii browser doesn't play mp3's. It does do limited Flash (Flash 7) I think. So, what if I just created a very simple web app myself that uses the open source XSPF Web Music Player, a flash application that I can embed in a web page. Then all I need to do is send it a playlist as an argument. Sound simple right. I hope so. Let's see if it works. I already confirmed I can see my Tomcat instance from the browser. Let the hacking begin.

Life by the drop

Got more exercise last week as part of my continuing rehab of my knee. Finally met back up with the Prospect Park soccer meetup and had a blast! Unfortunately, I didn't RSVP in time this week and missed out. They cap attendance at 50 people. Sounds like a lot, but you have to understand the setup. They split up into 8 groups of 6-7 people and split the rather large field into 4 playing fields. 6 on 6 for 30 minutes, then rotate to play another team until 2 hours later you've played all teams. Co-ed and a lot of nubes makes for lots of space and plenty of time to just practice passing and stuff.

Listening to a little Stevie Ray Vaughan, a cover of Jimmy Hendrix's Little Wing. Makes me feel like I'm strolling down 6th street. Good timez.

There's a nice copy on YouTube, like a user submitted(?) music video. That's the one with Double Trouble. There's another version of him playing it live. But, I don't like this one as much as the first one.

Music snob

From Boing Boing, I know everyone likes a cool diagram. And this Venn diagram might be one of them. Are you are a hipster music snob? This t-shirt might be for you.
