Biking home from work
Rode my bike home from work the other day.
I have a bike rack for the car. So, the wife takes me and the bike to work. And, I ride it home.

Episode 1:
Was weird. The bus was heading to the depot, not going downtown. East Austin here we come!
So, I'll heave to show up between 5-6 next time.

Door to door my route was 16.7 miles.
2 miles on bike to bus
miles 2-11 on bus (long way since bus was heading to depot)
miles 11-16.7 on bike (via town lake+lamar)
~ 7-8 mile ride Easy.
If I get there earlier and go the normal way, it will be around a 5-6 mile ride.

Did you ride the Lance Vintage scooter for this distance. Looking to buy one here real soon. How was it?

No, actually. That's a really old post. I rode my bicycle part of the way with the bus being the other distance.

I'm really torn about which scooter to get actually.
I liked the Lance vintage from my course. I really did.
But, I have been having a hard time finding any good info online from a community of shall we say, happy customers.
True, there are a lot of brand conscious individuals out there ready to bash any brand without name recognition or just b/c it's a Chinese scooter. So, it comes down to this for me:

- Lance vintage scooter at around $2K (cheap but plenty of horror stories online. Are these legitimate, I don't know?). Lots of great colors to choose from. 150cc, 75mpg

- Buddy for around $3K (seems to have a pretty happy fan base, see their forums). But, will I like it? I certainly wish I had more colors to choose from. 125cc, 90mpg. Note I'm also looking at their Milan with similiar specs.

- some other scooter, maybe from Scooter Revolution of around $2K, maybe the Moderna, but same concern here. What is a Moderna anyway?

What's weighing on my mind here is that when I get a scooter, I don't want it breaking down on me while riding down Lamar.
That could be dangerous. True, it may not cost much to get it fixed. But, will the parts be available? I don't know.

I feel like (based on random research and non-scientific surveys) that I'm a little less likely to have this problem with a Buddy.

I'd love to hear from someone that already owns a Lance (other than the dealer) to help sway my opinion.
Today, I'm just not sure. I'll probabaly make a decision in the next 2-3 days.

If you are looking for a Lance to buy, go to Vroom scooters on East 10th street in Austin. And, take a look. But, buyer beware for sure. Buddy's are sold at Urban Moto on S. Lamar and Barton Springs. Scooter Revolution is on North Loop and Ave F.

Good luck!
